David founded Rise Private Wealth Advisors because he felt it was the only path to provide truly unbiased financial guidance that extends well beyond just managing investments. To him, the path to building a successful firm was simple: Do right by people and the business will follow.
With a passion for research and a belief that education must come first, David has developed tremendous professional experience, specializing in portfolio design & management, retirement income planning, and tax-efficient retirement planning strategies. In his career David has served as the Portfolio Manager to publicly traded mutual funds and has been a speaker at large forum educational events for both investors and peer professionals.
David graduated from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and enjoys pointing out that another well-known Husker alum is Warren Buffett. While still a student, David had the opportunity to meet both Buffett and Bill Gates during a joint lecture at the College of Business—though Buffett kept his stock tips to himself.
David holds his Series 65 Securities license, and is licensed for Life & Health Insurance in 21 states. He is working toward his CFP accreditation, but temporarily put the classwork on hold to devote his full professional attention to his responsibilities at Rise, which include: Senior Advisor, Portfolio Manager, and Chief Compliance Officer. David is also a notary public commissioned in the state of Arizona.
A Few Words from David…
Professionally, I’m fortunate to have spent my entire career in the Independent Advisory space, working with clients in nearly all 50 states. It has allowed me to understand such a diverse array of circumstances and challenges, without corporate sales pressure or investment limitations. Every single person, family, or business is different. When plans and portfolios are anchored to what matters in your world, you will be happy with the outcome.
Away from the office, I love spending time with my wife, Lourdes, exploring new restaurants (tacos are my weak spot!). Though that feels a bit rare these days as we hustle between the busy schedules of our three kids – Taylor, Benji, & Helena – we wouldn’t have it any other way though! Being a baseball player growing up, I love to stay involved coaching my sons’ baseball & tee-ball teams. When we aren’t on a field, at a school event, or at a birthday party we love to travel with the kids and see them take in new experiences!
